Customized Design Styles

Warm, earthy colors are indicative of a French Country design style, as are worn and ornamental wooden furnishing. The style has an overarching farmhouse inspiration. French Country design may include soft and warm tones of red, yellow or gold and natural materials like stone and brick. French Country design can include collections of ornate porcelain dishes and heavy linens and bed coverings.

Rustic design is drawn from natural inspiration, using raw and often unfinished elements including wood and stone. Rustic design may incorporate accessories from the outdoors with warmth emulating from the design and architectural details that may include features like vaulted ceilings adorned with wood beams or reclaimed wood floors. Many designs now integrate rustic design with more modern furnishings and accessories.

With a sense of simplicity, modern furniture style is defined by clean and crisp lines, a simple design, neutral color palette, and “cold” materials. The style grew out of the decorative arts and was started in the 20th century.

Contemporary furniture design describes the style that’s based on present times — “the here and now”. In that case it’s similar to the modern. Contemporary furniture style is fluid — it may contain smooth shapes and curved lines.

Traditional style of furniture reproduces the classic decor with European flair. Traditional design emphasizes elegance and simplicity. The main characteristics are deep colors and wood tones, decorative details and a variety of ornamental elements.

Borrowing the best from modern and traditional designs, the transitional is another popular furniture style in current home interiors. The design offers a balance of both classic elegance and modern materials. This style may blend plush and noble furnishings with steel materials and glass elements.

Mid-Century Modern is the style known for the most iconic furniture pieces in modern design. An architectural and interior design describes mid-20th century progress in development from 1933 to 1965.

Color palettes are neutral and airy; furnishings are simple and streamlined, and nothing is excessive or flamboyant in accessories or decor. Minimalism is ultimately defined by a sense of functionality and ultra-clean lines.

Shabby chic is vintage-inspired style, but compared to Bohemian and other styles, tends to be more feminine, soft and delicate. Shabby chic furnishings are often either distressed or appear that way; paint tends to have antique-style finishes. The Shabby Chic color palettes include white, cream and pastels. Light light fixture and wall hangings may be ornate and continue the feminine vibe of shabby chic design.
